First Birthday Photo Session in Austin, Texas

happy Birthday, Baby Olivia! I’ve had the privilege of photographing this adorable little girl 3 times over the last class. Actually, 4 times if you count her ma ’ second pregnancy seance!
I know this prison term went by very promptly for her ma but I know she’s indeed glad to have some great photos to look back on her travel to her first birthday! It was indeed amazing to see her grow from being in her ma’s belly to her newborn session and then again at a kin school term when she was about 3 months old.
I was so stimulated when Kelsi reached out to me about doing first birthday photos and she wanted it to be a mermaid subject! Yes, yes, yes- I am all in! Of course, that was my answer! I created this apparatus from an inspiration photo she sent me and added in a few of my own touches. Growing up in Connecticut, I spent many days at the beach with my parents and over the years we have collected a categorization of treasures- shells, starfish, sandpaper dollars, beach glass, coral- you name it, my ma credibly has it at her house!
I was therefore aroused about the root that I had to tell my ma all about it… and a few weeks later, 2 boxes showed up on my doorsill wax of treasures from all of our time exploring the beach throughout my life. It was PERFECT and it was actually great to incorporate some personal touches. And the bonus- now I have some sea interior decoration for my house, which desperately needs decorating!

here’s what I came up with for this foremost birthday photograph session :

The cake came from Hayley’s sulfur Cakes and Cookies and it was PERFECT!

And then the Little Mermaid found her small peg and said she was DONE!

We topped off the seance with this fabulous fiddling bathtub and had a little splash session. I think this was her darling function because she was all smiling!

I loved this seance so much, particularly the mermaid subject! I *might* have a big milestone birthday coming up myself in barely a couple of weeks so there might be another mermaid cake making an appearance around here soon. 🙂
