Every summer, thousands of employees across Long Island barter in their business overdress for their finest fitness gear and compete in the Marcum Workplace Challenge — a 3.5-mile charity walk/run around Jones Beach State Park in Wantagh, New York. now in its 12th year, it ’ second one of the largest bodied health event in the area, with more than 200 teams participating to promote health, health and philanthropy in the local business community .
ConveyIQ decided to sit down with organizers Mindy Davidson, of the Greater Long Island Running Club, and Molly Crane, Human Resources Director at Marcum LLP, to get their insights on how health programs impact caller culture .

Why Wellness?

At Marcum, one of the largest account firms in the nation, health has always been a priority. But in 2011, the company turned their focus on promoting what Crane describes as a “ full-bodied health broadcast ” for all their employees .
“ We want our employees to be healthy, we want them to be fat — you want to help your work force. A healthier work force is a happier work force, ” Crane said.
