[ 122 ] Although Hannity has covered Cohen on his show, he did not disclose that he had consulted with Cohen. [ 125 ]

Fox News released a statement on April 16, 2018, attributed to Hannity : “ Michael Cohen has never represented me in any matter. I never retained him, received an invoice, or paid legal fees. I have occasionally had brief discussions with him about legal questions about which I wanted his remark and position. I assumed those conversations were confidential, but to be absolutely clear they never involved any matter between me and a one-third party. ” [ 126 ] besides, NBC News quoted Hannity as saying : “ We decidedly had attorney–client privilege because I asked him for that, ” [ 127 ] while Hannity said on his radio testify that he “ might have handed him ten bucks ” for the attorney-client prerogative. [ 148 ] No attest of error by Clinton had been found after three years of allegations, an FBI probe, and the 2017 appointment of a Federal lawyer to evaluate the investigation. In November 2017, Fox News host Shepard Smith concisely debunked the alleged scandal, including saying that Clinton did not personally approve the sale, infuriating viewers who suggested he should work for CNN or MSNBC. [ 149 ] [ 150 ] Hannity later called Smith “ clueless ”, while Smith stated, “ I get it, that some of our impression program is there strictly to be entertaining. I get that. I do n’t work there. I would n’t work there. ” [ 151 ] [ 152 ] A biennial Justice Department probe initiated after Trump became president of the united states found no attest to justify pursuing a condemnable probe. [ 153 ] [ 154 ]
